Laminate Flooring Designed Around Your Lifestyle
Laminate has come a long way. Today’s high-definition designs capture the grain of real wood and the texture of natural stone, while a tough wear layer shrugs off kids, pets, and heavy foot traffic. It’s the practical choice when you want a beautiful floor that fits your lifestyle — and your budget.
Traditional & Water-Resistant Laminate
Not all laminate is the same. Here’s how the main options compare, so you can find the right fit for each room.
Traditional Laminate
A dense HDF core topped with a high-definition design layer and a protective wear layer — affordable, scratch-resistant, and available in a huge range of wood and stone looks.
Water-Resistant Laminate
Sealed edges and moisture-resistant cores stand up to spills and humidity, making it a great fit for kitchens, entryways, and busy living areas.
AC-Rated Durability
The AC rating (AC3–AC5) tells you how much traffic a floor can handle. We help you match the rating to each room so your laminate performs for years.
How to Choose the
Right Laminate
A few simple considerations narrow the options quickly—and our flooring experts are here to guide you the rest of the way.
1
Look & Texture
Choose from realistic wood looks in light-to-dark tones plus natural stone visuals, then pick a texture — smooth to embossed — that suits your style.
2
Water Resistance
For kitchens, entryways, and mudrooms, choose water-resistant laminate. For living rooms and bedrooms, traditional laminate is a great value.
3
Traffic & Durability
Match the AC wear rating to how busy the room is — higher ratings shrug off heavy foot traffic, kids, and pets with ease.
4
Finish & Texture
Smooth, embossed, or hand-scraped textures in matte-to-satin finishes change how realistic — and how formal — the floor feels underfoot.
5
Budget & Value
Laminate delivers premium wood and stone looks at a friendly price — excellent value per square foot, with easy care that keeps it looking great for years.
Popular Laminate Looks & Finishes
From warm oak and hickory to cool gray and natural stone, there’s a laminate look for every room and every style.
Popular Wood-Look Styles
Oak (Light & Warm): the timeless, versatile classic. Hickory: bold grain and character. Gray & Greige: cool, modern, on-trend. Stone-Look: the look of tile with a warmer feel.
Finishes & Textures
Embossed-in-Register: texture that lines up with the grain for a genuinely real feel. Smooth: clean and contemporary. Matte & Satin: low-sheen looks that hide everyday wear.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do you offer free in-home consultations?
Yes—our free in-home consultations make shopping easy. A flooring expert brings laminate samples to your home, takes professional measurements, and helps you compare species and finishes in your own lighting, with no obligation. You’re also always welcome at our Columbia showroom.
Can I see laminate flooring samples before deciding?
Absolutely. Visit our Columbia showroom to see and feel laminate in different looks and textures, and take samples home to check them in your own light.
Is laminate flooring waterproof?
Most laminate is water-resistant rather than fully waterproof. We carry water-resistant laminate that’s ideal for kitchens and entryways; for full baths or areas with standing water, we’ll recommend a waterproof vinyl option.
Is laminate durable for busy households?
Very. A tough wear layer resists scratches, dents, and fading, and higher AC-rated laminate stands up to kids, pets, and heavy foot traffic with easy cleanup.
Do you provide professional laminate installation?
Yes. Our experienced installers handle everything from subfloor prep to the finished floor, using a clean floating click-lock system for precise results.
How is laminate installed?
Most laminate uses a floating click-lock system that locks together over an underlayment — no nails or glue — for a fast, clean installation.
Can laminate be refinished like hardwood?
No — laminate can’t be sanded or refinished like solid wood. But it’s built to resist wear, and individual planks can usually be replaced if one is ever damaged.
Where should I avoid installing laminate?
Skip full bathrooms, laundry rooms, and anywhere with standing water or constant moisture. For those spaces a waterproof vinyl floor is a better fit — and we’re happy to help you choose.
What areas do you serve?
We proudly serve Columbia, Ellicott City, and communities across Howard, Montgomery, Anne Arundel, Baltimore, Carroll, Frederick, and Prince George’s counties—including Olney, Jessup, Bethesda, Chevy Chase, Potomac, Rockville, Silver Spring, and Gaithersburg. Visit our Columbia showroom or schedule a free in-home consultation anywhere in our service area.
How fast can you install?
As soon as the next day! Typically, most homeowners request installation within 1-3 weeks. We keep a large selection of products in stock that help us meet your schedule!
Can you coordinate flooring?
We prefer to say “coordinate.” It’s near impossible to match flooring because so many variables are in place! Dye lots, color change from sunlight and wear and tear make a perfect match impossible. We’ll work hard to coordinate :)
Can you repair existing flooring?
Unfortunately, we don’t offer repair work.
